II. OBJECTIVES

The Conference of Catholic Theological Institutions (CICT-COCTI), founded in 1978 in Porto Allegre, was restructured as a Sectorial Group of the International Federation of Catholic Universities (FIUC-IFCU) in Paris, in January 2008 with more than 60 institutions from all continents being represented.

The objective of this 14th General Assembly is to give a unique opportunity to deans and directors of Institutions of Catholic Theology to meet and create, together, strategies for their academic leadership and to face challenges posed by the Latin American context.

The 14th General Assembly is organised in three parts:

1/ Discussions

a)    The theme of the meeting will focus on new generations.

At the General Assembly in Nairobi (November 2014), we have agreed to carry out a project -around training in theology new generations- unfolding over four years. This topic is structured in two General Assemblies prepared by Regional assemblies.

- General Assembly in Bogota, the 22 to 24 September 2016

It will endeavor to know this new generation. It will use the IFCU particular survey and the Aparecida document that presents youth culture.

- General Assembly in Quebec in 2018

It will consider the impact on the theological training of teachers (method and form) of this cultural novelty that new generation represents , including the fact that she lives in a digital culture.

b)    We could also react on:

- what we have just received in the International Congress (see number VII);

- the way that different faculties are receiving and integrating the teachings of Pope Francis. It would be interesting to received information about the way we are reacting in different continents and countries;

- a general information about the Congress of ICP in june 2016.

2/ CICT-COCTI network:

a)     How to promote the sharing of resources, mutual contributions in research projects, ways to enhance collaboration between institutions, and enhancing the network?

b)    How to ameliorate our organisation?

You are invited to prepare proposals to be discussed during the Assembly.

3/ Report of the president, election of the Administrative Council

Only members[i] who have paid their fees can take part in the voting for the election of the Administrative Council. Associates have a right to vote on the report. The statutes can be found on the CICT-COCTI website: http://cict-cocti.org
